Several brands are riding the Indian Premier League (IPL) wave. The T20 tournament is also seen as providing a growth opportunity for the mobile gaming industry and has spawned quite a few games already. exchange4media takes a look at some of the mobile gaming initiatives being taken. The mobile industry in India is estimated to be around Rs 2,000-3,000 crore, while the mobile gaming industry is roughly just Rs 100-200 crore.

Players like Indiagames have already launched initiatives like Cricket T20 Super Sixers. The game will be first available on iPhones. Vishal Gondal, CEO, Indiagames said, “Cricket as a category itself is evergreen and IPL only boosts this category. Had the IPL been held in India, or in Mumbai for that matter, there would have been a lot more local games giving way to merchandising.
